Bonomo No More by Brett on 06.27.09, 10:53 pm

Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo was the first P5er to hit the rail of the $50,000 HORSE Event. Bonomo could never get anything going after losing 2/3 of his stack late last night and was eliminated by Joe Cassidy in the Stud-8 round.

Bonomo was all in on sixth street and Cassidy called:

Justin Bonomo (X)(X)4AA3
Joe Cassidy (X)(X)5873

Cassidy flipped over a flush and an 8-5-7-3-2 low and Bonomo mucked his hand. There are still several P5ers still in, including Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein, Zac “ZacPacker” Fellows, Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis and Jon “PearlJammer” Turner.

WSOP 2009 EVent #51: $1.5K NLHE

Shawn “westtexasman” Rice was the victim of an unfortunate flop just before the dinner break. We saw Rice standing up in disbelief across the room and walked over to check out what happened. On a flop of AT6, Rice and another player got all of their chips in. Rice had 66 for a set of sixes, but his opponent flipped over TT for a higher set of tens. Rice was unable to his his final six when the turn and river brought the 7 and Q and he was left with just 2.5K.

Shaun Deeb got caught with his hand in the cookie jar in the Brasilia Room. There were a ton of chips in the middle, and the board read KK59Q when Deeb’s opponent bet into him. Shaun raised all-in and his opponent went into the tank. Finally his opponent reached for chips. “I guess I have to call,” he announced. Shaun made a face and turned over A2 for ace-high, his opponent tabled AA for a pair of aces. Deeb lost a 40K pot but is still above average with 18K.

Allen “albari” Bari is MIA. We went to check on his stack on break, and there is nothing but felt in front of the seat he once occupied.

Every time we check in on Tom “titantom32″ Braband his chip stack seems to double. Braband was one of the last people to leave the Brasilia Room, trying to count his stack. After counting and recounting his colorful mountain, Tom looked up.

“Eighty,” he said with a grin from ear to ear.

80K! Tom is clearly the chip leader; no stack in the room is even comparable to his. Here are some other chip counts as players went on their 90-minute dinner break:
