As the $1.5K NLHE Shootout went into the second break, we saw that several tables were already completed while several others were quickly progressing towards a winner. Here are some of the P5ers still playing in the event:
-Jeff “YoungSupremacy” Hakim and Kyle “dumpingkgb” Brossia are battling heads-up
-Thayer Rasmussen is the slight short stack in the heads up match at his table
-Adam “akat11″ Katz is the 3-handed chip leader at his table and his two elderly opponents have quite literally conceded defeat. One pointed at Adam and told us, “he’s gonna win you know.”
-Jason “JCarver” Somerville (pictured right) has chipped up at his table and is fairly even stacked with the other two players remaining
-Theo “pittrounder” Tran is 3-handed at his table.
-Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby has the 3-handed chip lead at his table, formerly known as the P5s table of doom. While David “DavidP18″ Peters and Devin “tranquilchaos” Porter have hit the rail, Jason Gray is still hanging in there.
-Anthony “D1rtyR1v3r” Nardi is the short stack at his 3-handed table. He told us he lsot a 30K pot with AK and has some work to do to take the table down.
-Brent “BHanks11″ Hanks seems to have control and the most chips at his 3-handed table.
-Matt “All In At 420″ Stout appeared to be in decent shape at his 3-handed table.
-Daniel “voff” Deveau is the short stack at his 3-handed table.
-Steve “gboro780″ Gross is holding onto the chip lead at his table, but they are still playing 4-handed.
-A couple of tables over from Steve, Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith has lost his chip lead but is one of the four players still remaining.
-Garrett “GBecks” Beckman was barely hanging in there the last we checked on his 4-handed table.
But really, we have saved the headline match for last. Chris “SLOPPYKLOD” Klodnicki and Eric “whItE mAmbA” Ladny (pictured left) are heads-up at their table and Chris holds a commanding chip lead. Eric hasn’t given up yet though. In fact, it seems like he is having quite a bit of fun. To be perfectly honest, the two almost came across like an overly affectionate couple constantly complimenting each others’ play. While it wasn’t as bad as them trading “You play better”, “No, *you* play better” back and forth across the table, the two clearly admire the other’s game and even with the chip lead Chris is aware he is up against a formidable opponent.
Here are some players who have already finished their matches and advanced to Round 2 tomorrow: Tom “titantom32″ Braband, David “Bakes” Baker, and JC “PrtyPSux” Alvarado.
WSOP 2009 Event #19: $2.5K 6-Handed NLHE
Russell “rcrane082985″ Crane (pictured right) was able to double up when he moved all-in with Q-10 and was called by the A-J of Jesse Rios. Crane really connected with the Q
T
3
flop but turned a bit of a scare card with the A
. He faded what he needed to with the 4
on the river and now sits around third in chips with 1.25 million. Meanwhile, Clayton “clayton27″ Newman is still the short stack and Brock “t_soprano” Parker is right behind Crane on the chip counts with 1.2 million.
