Bellagio Five Diamond Day 3 by Court on 12.16.08, 5:11 pm

The 139 players that made it through the first two days of play returned today to continue their efforts in the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Wolrd Poker Classic.  The top 100 reach the money, so money bubble play will be early on the schedule of events for today.  In the first half of the first level of play the field has already dropped to 125 players and the money bubble gets that much closer.

Devin “TranquilChaos” Porter
had a tough start to the day, coming in to find his bag of chips 20k short of what he was sure he had to end the day last night.  Then with that on his mind he ended up losing another 50k to Antonie Esfandiari on the first hand.  Devin was able to win a flip to eliminate a short stacked Eli Elezra though, when his AJ flopped a jack against Eli’s pair of fives.  Raking in a pot and getting things going in the right direction seems to have settled Devin down and he is back to focusing on playing his best.

Coming into the day in the top 15, both Scott “dorinvandy” Dorin and Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein are holding steady in the early going with their large chip stacks.  Greenstein is seated at the table on the stage, along with Mohsin “chicagocards1″ Charania and Hunter “The_Hunt_D” Frey.

Jason “JP_OSU” Potter (right) and Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul came into the day 120th and 121st in chips, both having just over 50k.  Both found their 50k starting stacks reduced to zero in short order.  Saul’s elimination came in brutal fashion when he was all in on a 6 high flop with pocket queens against pocket jacks.  A jack hit on the river to two out Kevin to the rail just short of making the money.
