“He’s Got Me Beat” by Rich on 06.19.09, 7:20 pm

The bubble has burst in Event #36. The remaining players will go home with a minimum of $4,010.

Bryan “bparis” Paris (pictured left) and David “Chino” Rheem were involved in a very interesting hand just now. Rheem raised from early position to 4.6K with the blinds at 800/1600/200. Action folded to Paris in the small blind who re-raised to 12.3K. Chino called, and the two saw a flop of AQ4. The two players checked and the dealer burned and turned the 6. Again the action went check-check and the river came the J. Paris led out for 17K and Rheem tanked momentarily. Chino then announced all in while simultaneously pushing chips in the middle. Paris, thinking it was a call, exposed JJ for a set of jacks. Chino shot him a look. “You call?” Rheem asked. “I said I’m all-in.”

“Oh $#@&,” Paris blurted flipping his cards back over.

Chino proceeded to stand up and pace around the table impatiently while Bryan tanked facing the 35K raise. “He’s got me beat but he can’t call,” he told spectators.

Bryan did make the call though, but to his dismay Chino held the nuts with KT. Paris was left shaking his head and short stacked with less than 10K.

Moments earlier Rheem had gotten involved with Jason Gray. Gray raised to 4K from under the gun and Rheem made it 12K in middle position. Action folded back to Gray, who made it 42K total. Rheem began talking to himself:

“You must have Ace-King. Or Kings… I’ve folded Queens twice in my life before… We’re probably racing.” He debated a move for several minutes and even grabbed a Life Savers fruit candy from Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith while thinking it over.

Rheem eventually decided to fold and before his hand hit the muck Gray made him an offer. “I’ll show if you show.” Rheem agreed and Gray turned over AK. A discouraged Rheem flipped up 88. Gray is currently sitting with 110K.

Jason “JAKoon1985″ Koon is getting creative over at his table. We watched Koon and another player see a flop of A76. Koon checked, his opponent bet 10K and Koon check-raised to 27K. The other player said “nice hand” and folded instantly.

“Thanks,” Koon said as he flipped over K9. “We’re playing poker now.”
