Baron Crashes by Rich on 06.08.09, 11:12 pm

After taking three big hits, Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron (pictured left) has gone from 2 million in chips to busto.

Lika Gerasimova delivered the first hit. Baron raised to 100K from middle position with the blinds at 20K/40K/5K, and Gerasimova pushed all in for 450K. Isaac begrudgingly made the call, and was way behind when Lika tabled KK. Baron flipped over QJ, and flopped an inside straight draw on a K98 board. Isaac couldn’t find a ten though, and Gerasimova won the pot.

Baron again raised to 100K an orbit later and Thomas Keller this time shoved over top for only 150K more. Isaac was forced to call with Q9, and was drawing live against Keller’s AK. Thomas flopped top two on a AK7 board, and Baron picked up an inside straight draw again when the J peeled on the turn. The 2 changed nothing and Keller doubled up.

The final blow came from Brian Lemke. Baron raised one final time to 100K and Lemke smooth called in front of the button. The two took a flop of A82, and Isaac led out for 140K. Brian raised to 400K, and Baron shoved all in. Lemke called, tabling AQ which crushed Baron’s AJ. The 7 on the turn and the 5 on the river didn’t improve Isaac and he was crippled, left with under 200K.

The next hand Baron was eliminated after his all-in received three calls. The hand was checked down and Fabian Quoss paired a queen on the board, eliminating Isaac in seventh place. He’ll be taking home $88,784.

Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers and Danny “dannyills” Illingworth are the remaining P5ers, sitting with 1.1 million and 930K respectively.

WSOP Event #19: $2.5K 6-Handed NLHE

We caught a big pot on the last hand before dinner break in which Taylor “Green Plastic” Caby moved all-in on Mike “SirWatts” Watson preflop and Mike thought for a minute or so before calling with pocket queens. He was racing with Taylor’s A-K and the {kh]648J board locked up the double up to 46K for Caby while Watson dropped to 20K.

Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul also lost a ton of chips against AK when his AQ failed to outdraw it and he was eliminatd shortly before the dinner break.

Here are some of the chip counts we spotted ourselves or pulled off of Twitter of players remaining in the $2.5K 6-Handed NLHE Event:
