Baring It All

If you’ve perused the photo gallery, you may have noticed there are a few more shiny domes than usual. Last night, more than a dozen players congregated in Phil Ivey’s villa and shaved their heads as a display of solidarity for fellow poker player and P5er Thuy “ShesNoGood” Doan. Doan is currently battling cancer and is sporting a shaved head of her own as result of her chemotherapy treatments. Some of the players who took part in the gesture included Doyle Brunson, Barry “barryg1” Greenstein, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Dan O’Brien and Bertrand “ElKY” Grospellier (pictured left).
In more tournament-related news, Seth “grtwhitehoop” Fischer has been on a tear so far today and we caught up with him where he picked up another sizeable pot and eliminated Billy Baxter in the process. Baxter raised preflop in early position and both Fischer and tablemate Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin called. On a flop of A

action checked to Fischer, he bet out and only Baxter called. Baxter checked again after the 5 fell on the turn and Fischer fired a second bet. Baxter then check-raised for more than half his stack and Fischer moved all-in. Baxter called and the cards were turned face up. Fischer showed 22 for a set of deuces while Baxter held A-5 for aces up. The J on the river was no help to Baxter and he was eliminated. Fischer is now one of the big stacks in the room with 197,000. Chips or not, Fischer has a tough table line-up that includes Baldwin, Billy “Patrolman35” Kopp and Vivek “psyduck” Rajkumar.
In other news, there has been a bit of a ruckus in here as Antonio Esfandiari and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow are yelling across the room at each other, debating the merits of some sort of prop bet. For a moment, five or six different people were shouting and Adam “Roothlus” Levy summed up what most people were thinking:
