Approaching the Final Table

Jason “JAKoon1985″ Koon and Eric “white_mamba” Ladny were both eliminated short of the final table of the $2,000 No Limit Hold ‘em Event. We missed Koon’s bustout hand, but Ladny’s hand provided all the drama we live for in the late stages of a poker tournament.
With the blinds at 10K/20K and a 3K ante, Ladny moved all in from middle position for 227K. Scott “stpauli111″ Hall (pictured left) made the call in the big blind with 5

, which was in front of Ladny’s A
J. Eric walked over to Scott and said, “Let me sweat this one with you.”

6 flop gave Ladny 15 outs, and one of them, the A landed on the turn. Hall had one out to eliminate Ladny, and sure enough the 5 hit the river and Ladny was sent to the rail in 14th place with $29,148.
We’re down to 11. Hall currently sits sixth in chips with just over 600,000. We’ll be keeping close tabs on him the rest of the day.
WSOP 2009 Event #15: $5K NLHE

Now that we’ve got the gallery up and the first two levels are out of the way we’ll be on the floor for coverage the rest of the day. The $2.5K NLHE Day 2 is also underway. Early exits include Scott “BigRiskky” Clements and Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy, who ran his pocket tens into pocket kings when all of the chips went in preflop. Garrett “GBecks” Beckman won a big pot in the first level and is one of the tournament chip leaders.
