Event #52 is off and running in the Amazon Room, but it seems as if all eyes are on the FIFA Confederations Cup Championship match between the United States and Brazil. The game is tied 2-2 and the room is tense.
“How is this even possible?” Maria “Maridu” Mayrinck blurted. “We’re Brazil!”
Christian “charder30″ Harder is standing in front of a TV across the room from his seat at Table 10. Christian has to have missed at least two rotations of hands while watching the game. Andy “BKiCe” Seth was teaching Chad Brown about fouls and yellow cards in soccer. “Holding is kind of like traveling in basketball,” Seth explained. “Except the ref’s actually call it.”
There are cards in the air, and Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin has done some work in the first level. When we walked up to his table the board was Q
4
3
Q
and Eric checked to an opponent who bet 300. Baldwin shot him a confused look and then called. The river was the 9
and Eric checked again. His opponent grabbed an assortment of chips and eventually splashed 750 into the pot. Eric took one earphone off and gave his adversary the ultimate “WTF?” look.
“You either have like fours-full or absolute air,” he announced.
Baldwin went into the tank for a good while before begrudgingly flipping two 500 chips into the middle. His opponent frowned and tabled T
7
for ten high. Eric showed A

for bottom pair and scooped the pot. Baldwin has used both of his “re-buy” chips, and after that hand is up to 10.3K.
It’s still early, but we saw Davidi “legrouzin” Kitai walking in the hallways of the Rio a few minutes ago. He was slowly walking away from the Amazon Room, and we’re not sure but that could mark the end of his day.
The field is full of P5ers today and as play continues we will be sure to update you.
