In the past hour, players holding a wired pair of sevens have taken big pots off of P5ers.
Joep “Pappe_Ruk” van den Bijgaart (pictured left) ran into sevens on Table 34. The board read A
A
5
7
3
and an opponent led out for about 4.5K. Joep tossed an orange 5K chip in the middle and his opponent tabled 7
7
.
“Wow,” van den Bijgaart uttered.
Joep mucked claiming an ace, but sevens full took the 25K pot. van den Bijgaart took a hit, but is sitting comfortably above the starting stack.
Jeff “YoungSupremacy” Hakim dodged a big hand at an outer table in the Green Section. Action folded to the button who called 300, a woman in the small blind completed and Hakim raised to 1.6K from the big blind. Both the button and the small blind called and the flop fell 7
3
2
. The small blind checked to Hakim who bet 3K. The button raised to 8K and the small blind announced all in, pushing more than 40K in the middle. Jeff tanked for quite some time before folding and the button released quickly. The woman rolled over 7
7
and pulled in the pot.
Nick “fu_15″ Maimone continues to add to his stack. We’re not sure if there was any action before this, but we saw Nick raised to 1.5K preflop and get called by the players in Seats Three and Eight. The flop was A
4
4
and all three players checked. The turn was the 6
. Maimone checked and the player in Seat Three beat 1.5K. Seat Eight folded and Maimone made the call. The river was the A
. Maimone checked again and Seat Three bet 2.5K. Maimone quickly called and showed his J
J
, which was good enough to take the pot. He had about 122K in front of him with a level and a half left to play.
After taking a couple hits right after the dinner break, Shaun Deeb was able to win a big pot to move his stack back up to the 50K mark. Deeb had just announced all in on the turn with the board reading A
J
4
8
. His opponent, who had doubled through Deeb with a set of queens a short time before, called quickly and turned over the daunting A
8
but Deeb was ahead, having flopped top two pair with his A
J
. The river was the 5
and this time it was Deeb who doubled through seat three.
Chips once again headed away from Deeb a little while later, though. He raised to 725 after it folded to him on the button. The small blind folded before the player in the big blind raised to 2.3K with about 10K behind. Deeb put him all in and the big blind called, showing Q
Q
. Deeb showed A
J
. The board didn’t bring him enough help, running out J
8
7
9
5
, and Deeb was back down to 37K or so.
Peter “Belabacsi” Trapley, winner of the $5K NLHE Shootout last month, has found a worthy adversary at his table this evening. He and the player in seat one have been going back and forth with flop bets, raises and re-raises, but neither has been hit very hard as Belabacsi still has above the starting stack while his opponent is nearing 40K. It should make for an intriguing final level of the night in the back of the Orange section of the Amazon Room.
We’ve confirmed that Jerry “herschelw” Watterson has been eliminated today but were unable to find out the specifics of the hand against Hoyt Corkins.Po For now we’ll have to stick with the story we’ve got. David “GhettoFabolous” Randall has also hit the rail.
Here are some brief chip counts from the Orange Section:
Rob “veeRob” Perelman - 52.5K
Jason “mkind0516″ Laso - 37K (pictured right)
Peter “Belabaccsi” Traply - 32.3K
Owen “ocrowe” Crowe - 32.2K
Aurangzeb “Ozzy87″ Sheikh - 31K
Joe Sebok - 30K
Randy “Randers” Haddox - 23K
Mike “BOBCATSPEGAL” Spegal - 14K
