History in the Making? by Brett on 06.10.09, 6:33 am

We lost internet connection here in the media room for awhile so we apologize for the lack of updates from the remaining two events. Here’s what went down in the $2.5K Six-handed NLHE event during the downtime:

Four P5ers will return for Day 3 as 11 players will battle for the rights to the gold bracelet and $552,745 prize. Brock “t_soprano” Parker (pictured left), fresh off his victory in the $2.5K Six-Handed LHE Event, will begin play second in chips with 1.6 million when the players take their seats tomorrow. Russell “rcrane082985″ Crane (672,000), Jay “SEABEAST” Kinkade (512,000) and Clayton “clayton_27″ Newman (501,000) are slightly below the average of 700K but all will have more than 30 big blinds to work with.

Crane and Parker did the dirty work in the last level of the night by sending the 12th and 13th-place finishers home. With blinds at 6K/12K Crane opened to 27K from under the gun and the button moved all in for 95K. Action folded back to Crane, who tossed in a handful of 5K orange chips to make the call.

Crane’s A-3 was able to hold against his opponent’s K-J and the remaining 12 players merged into two tables.

Just minutes before play ended for the night Parker showed everyone just how good he’s been running over the past week. A player in early position raised and Parker put in a reraise to 103K. The button then moved all in for 203K total. Parker thought for a few minutes with a puzzled look on his face before his opponent began to speak up:

“It’s 4-1. You already got a bracelet. Let someone else win a bracelet.”

Parker decided to make the call, and while he wasn’t a 4-1 dog his A3 was in trouble against AK… that is until a flop of 542 all but finished things. Parker’s straight held up and we were down to our final 11 for the night.

Play will resume at Noon local time tomorrow and we will be following Brock Parker’s quest for back-to-back bracelets closely.
