Jack Effel has given his customary “Shuffle Up and Deal” proclamation and cards are in the air in today’s $2K No Limit Hold ‘em Event. More than 1,400 players have registered and most have taken their seats in front of 6K starting chips. This is the third $2K NLHE of the 2009 World Series of Poker. Anthony Harb won the first (Event #11) and the second was played down to a champion last night as Angel Guillen won his first WSOP bracelet with several P5ers, including JC “PrtyPSux” Alvarado and Adam “Roothlus” Levy, cheering him on late into the evening.
Players we saw wandering the hallways preparing to take their seats included Devin “TranquilChaos” Porter, Jason “JAKoon1985″ Koon, Derek “arodss3″ Buanano, Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka and Matt “mattster24″ Sterling. Best of luck to everyone playing in Event #36 today!
The #1.5K NLHE Event #34 restart will get underway at 1:00 p.m. local time. We’re anticipating an exciting Day 3 as P5ers Jonas Klausen, Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin, Joe “jcada99″ Cada, Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier, James “mig.com” Mackey and Andrew “allofit29″ Youngblood are all attempting to earn $521,932 and a gold bracelet as the champion this evening. Klausen, who we identified late last night, is the chip leader with 939K.
Day 2 of the $5K PLO Event #35 kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Sixy-three players will trim down to nine (hopefully) by tonight. Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi is fourth in chips 177K after going on a late rush on Day 1 while Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy (148.8K), Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron (86K), Allen albari” Bari (67K), Clayton “clayton_27″ Newman (52K), Mike “SirWatts” Watson (52K) and Justin “BoostedJ” Smith (45K) are still in the field.
Stay tuned to P5sLive for continuing coverage of all of today’s events!
