10K Mixed is Off and Running

Event #12 at this year’s WSOP was highly anticipated. The $10K World Championship Events are always popular, but the mixed game tournament always draws a buzz. Among the participants are close to a dozen PocketFivers, including Noah “fouruhaters” Schwartz, Brock “t_soprano” Parker, Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke, Jon “PearlJammer” Turner, James “mig.com” Mackey, Scott “gunning4you” Seiever and Mike “SirWatts” Watson.
We’ve received word that Jimmy Fricke (pictured left) won a huge stud pot holding 777AA against his opponent’s 222TT, and that Mike Watson is just below the starting stack of 30K at the first break.
We’ll update you on the tournament as the night continues.

We missed the preflop action, but we did see Dan “Wretchy” Martin bet 13K, around a pot-sized bet, on a A

flop and convinced his opponent to fold pocket kings face up. Martin then showed 9
T as he raked the sizeable pot. We’re not sure who the tournament chip leader is, but he and Jason Mercier are certainly some of the biggest stacks we’ve seen so far.
